We live in CT and needed a break from winter so we booked this cruise sort of last minute. NJ is a 2 1/2 hour drive for us and we had previously been on Quantum so we knew we loved this class and Anthem did not disappoint!

We arrived at 10:30 and no joke, were on the ship at 10:45. When you arrive there is staff when you enter the building with iPads ready to check you in. Having been there before, we went through security first and then went straight to the desk where there was no line.

A lot of people complain (including me) that the Windjammer on the first day at lunch is a mad house. Since we knew that the best roast beef sandwiches and salads were served at Cafe 270 for lunch, we headed straight there to get a table. Lunch did not disappoint and it was stress free because many people go straight up to Deck 14 when they arrive. To our surprise, a staff member came out and did a quick demo of the robo screens and what they could do so we had a little show while we ate lunch!

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

The balcony was extended being that it was on part of the "hump". The bed was by the balcony (which we love) and have reserved this same type of room on our next Anthem cruise in September! Our stateroom attendant Jean Louis was AMAZING!!! He always had a smile and greeted us and our room was always made up while we were out exploring in the morning and while we were at dinner at night.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

From parking the car to on the ship it only took 15 minutes!

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

We didn't do an excursion because my dad is down there but a short taxi or uber away is the famous Cocoa Beach.

Nassau

We did some shopping and had a low key day.
