All-in-all, we did enjoy the cruise. But I did have one complaint and was disappointed in how things have changed.

In terms of the complaint, it’s actually pretty significant. Our room’s A/C did not work. We did call and a room steward came by and confirmed there was an issue. She called a technician who also came by ad confirmed the air was not working. He tried a few things and then left. There was no improvement, so I asked two more times at guest services to have it looked at. I also asked if they had a different room they could give us or a fan that we could bring to the room. They said the ship was full and they couldn’t do anything. No one came back to check the room from the second and third request. This was very disappointing. But it was more unfortunate that there was no apology. It ran close to 80 degrees the entire cruise. We ended up leaving the curtains closed and taking luke warm showers to avoid adding heat to the room. We used wet towels in the evening to help us fall asleep.

In terms of disappointments, there were several little things that seem to have changed in the cruise experience that made it such a unique vacation. For example, we used to love coming back to the room at the end of the evening to a refreshed room with towel animals, chocolates, and the next day’s list of activities. But it now appears as though the room is only refreshed once a day, either in the morning or afternoon, but not in the evening. In fact, the first time our room was refreshed was late afternoon of the second day. Also, when we first checked into the room, there were used beach towels, baggage tags, and Kleenex from the previous guests under both beds. There were no chocolates, sometimes we received the next day’s agenda (but a couple of time we had to get it from guest services), but we did have towel animals on a few of the afternoons. Documents in the room said to leave used beach towels in your room and they would be refreshed by the steward. This did not occur until the last night, which didn’t help us as we were leaving the next morning. All previous days we had to go to the pool deck to refresh towels.
