My wife and I chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary and the dates. Our experience was very positive, but there are a few things I would have liked a little different.

Embarkation was very fast. It takes a little time to find the parking in New Orleans, but once you do, getting on the ship is a breeze. The staff at the Port of New Orleans is a little rude, but everyone that works for Norwegian was very polite and helpful. We arrived over an hour before our scheduled arrival time and nobody said anything. Disembarkation was a little on the slow side, but that was due to the fact that many people were taking advantage of the express walk-off option, where you can get off the ship at 7 am if you bring your own bags.

The ship was beautiful, and the renovations made it feel new, at least aesthetically. There are a couple of signs of age, such as some leaking light fixtures and the layout of the ship (namely, the fact that the Venetian main dining room on deck 6 is not accessible by anything other than the aft stairs on decks 7 and 5). However, the additional restaurants and refreshing of the common areas made up for these small flaws.
