I literally planned this cruise one week before our departure. The website was super-easy to navigate and had representatives available to assist. Upon arrival, I was glad to see the Carnival staff greeting us at the door and cheerfully escorting us to the terminal. The check-in procedure was very lax which sort of concerned me, but overall, I was not worried about my safety on board. Our first couple of hours on board were a little chaotic because we were not instructed that we could venture the ship nor attend the lunch buffet. There was a large crowd in the atrium area until the staterooms were open. The first night was a little uncomfortable because the minute we got to relax, we had to participate in a ship evacuation drill then were not given any information regarding that evening's activities. However, the rest of the cruise was very well planned and organized. There was literally something to do at all times. I was very very impressed with the shows that were put on by the Ecstacy Dancers. Not only were they attractive people, but had genuine talent. I did find the bar service to be terribly overpriced, but the rebate I was awarded by purchasing online helped to offset the cost. The interior of the ship was average-not emmaculate. The staterooms were cleaned often, but the public areas were not kept very clean. I was very disappointed to see Lido deck as well as the trademark fin to be visibly dirty. My family and I wanted to use both these areas as a photo-op, but were unable to. Camp Carnival offered some activities that were fun for the children joining us, but had several 'unsupervised' events that were not suitable. Overall, I will definately sail Carvial again, but may opt to ride another vessel.

Cabin Review

Cabin R

R139 was Ocean View. Considering the time we spent away from our cabin, I will not spend the extra for the window next time. The space was a little cramped, but expected.
