We chose this particular cruise because we had been on the same itinerary the year before but on a different ship. We were especially looking forward to returning to Loreto. The crew on the STAR PRINCESS were amazing; they did their jobs and were very friendly. Captain Tuvo was outstanding in his relationship with his crew and the guests. I even saw him clear glasses one day from a table. One day, he even slowed the ship so guests could view the whales. Another day, he kept us all informed while an ill crew member was evacuated via helicopter. He was amazing!!!
Embarkation and disembarkation were the fastest we have ever experienced in our years of cruising. We walked right up to check-in and right onto the ship. While disembarking, we also walked right up to customs w/o any line. It was amazing!
We had traditional dining in Amalfi Dining room. Waiter Edwin Dela Cruz and his assistant, Romnick Mamicio, worked well together; both of the gentlemen had good personalities and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Another staff member with a great personality was the head waiter who stopped by our table 2x every night (forgot his name). Food was delicious!
This was our first cabin on Baja deck as we usually book cabins on either Caribe or Dolphin. We always book a cabin in the middle area of the ship. Our room stewardess, Annie Panquai, was very efficient and like our Captain, she was very personable. She always had a smile! She kept ice in the ice bucket so my husband's medication would be kept cold. We wanted to bring her home with us!
