I traveled with my girlfriend for both of our first cruises, so I have no comparisons. However, it was way beyond our expectations. Great ship with lots to see and do. Amazing service and food was better than expected. We dined at the buffet half the time and the main dining room half the time. Our stateroom was an outside view (no balcony)and it was more than sufficient. I would have been fine with an inside room as well. The room was small, but very functional once we stored our suitcases. The stateroom attendant was excellent and took care of all of our needs and requests. We didn't use any of the ship's excursions, we booked all on our own once we left the ship and saved a ton. We didn't take advantage of much of the onboard entertainment, but what we did see was pretty good. I would definitely cruise again with Royal Carribean.

Port Reviews

San Juan

We visited Old San Juan, El Moro Castle, Condado Beach and Isla Verde Beach. Both beaches are nice, but I recommend Condado as it is closer to town.

St. Thomas

We took a taxi to Coko beach. The views along the way were great. The beach was beautiful with very clear water. It was a smaller beach and fairly crowded, but beautiful and lots of amenities. $15 for chairs and an umbrella. Someone near us had their backpack stolen, so beware.

St. John (U.S.V.I.)

We hired a taxi to give us a 4-hour tour for a total of $70 with tip. We went to several viewpoints, Nelson's Dockyard, a rain forest, Jolly Beach. great value and well worth seeing. Next time I would do a boat trip around the island to see all of the beaches.

Barbados

Our favourite beach. We took a cab for $5 each straight to Harbour Lights. For $20 each we had two chairs, an umbrella, wifi, and a 1-hour boat tour that included swimming with turtles and snorkelling over a shipwreck. We stayed there all day and it was amazing. I would do it again, but I feel that there is so much more of the island to see.

Aruba

We took a cab to Palm Beach and then went on a Catamaran tour that include drinks, food, and three snorkeling stops all for $45 each. Amazing value. I would do the exact same thing again as there didn't seem to be a whole lot of sights to see on the island.

Great day. We also went to Eagle Beach, but it was very windy and very few amenities. Go straight to Palm Beach.
