I chose this cruise because I particularly wished to visit Heidleburg and I had heard people talk about the scenery on the River Rhine .
River cruises tend to have fewer passengers on board and this was the case on Emerald Star. All passengers received good attention and I was especially pleased the way the staff assisted people with disabilities.
There was plenty of space on board. The only time a lot of passengers came together was at Evening Dinner.
After a long journey to the port of embarkation, I opened the cabin door. There was a beautiful made up bed with snow white linen on it. The large screen TV was switched on and a reality fire was showing on the screen which gave the cabin a pleasant ambience.
The cabin was laid out well, with plenty of wardrobe and storage space.
The separate bathroom was spotlessly clean. There was no reading lamp over the bed in this cabin which was a problem, as I like to read before going to sleep.
