We chose this cruise to enjoy time with friends. Service was middle of the road to slightly above poor. Only one waiter exceeded my expectations. Others didn't even meet them.
What do I mean by loud? Everything seemed to have the volume turned way too high. The Atrium area was used for loud, raucous gatherings, with the mic turned loud. Karaoke host told us Guest Relations asked her to turn down the volume 3 times and her response -- "I'm not going to turn it down, let's get louder". Shows even seemed to have the volume up too high. The only true solitude is some type of beach club/lounge for which you have to pay and the Waterfront. Music on open decks seemed overly loud. Our balcony was a few decks above the smoking area, and the roof to keep smokers dry seemed to magnify the sound to our balcony. So, don't expect much quiet and relaxation of that's your goal..
Unfortunate detour due to medical emergency caused us to miss our zip line in Roatan. One of the reasons we selected this itinerary was the zip line through the jungle. With all excursions cancelled, the small shopping area was over run with many of the 4.600 cruisers.
Cabin was a decent size. Balcony very small, which probably led to the sound of a lot of people sliding chairs (you know that sound). Cabin was a few decks above the smoking area, resulting in both smoke and noise almost constantly on our balcony. View is impaired by roof of waterfront and lifeboats that are out over the water.
Harvest Caye is not ready for prime time. Pool is fantastic. Nature section is interesting with butterflies and birds. Staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of activities. Why the 2 star? We were swimming in dead seaweed and trash. This should have to cleaned before we arrived. Probably a health hazard. Enjoyed being able to wash off the sea water with the pool. See pix in my NCL Getaway review.
Poor review because all excursions were cancelled and the shopping area can't handle the 4,600 passengers all trying to get off the cruise's first port. Imagine it would be more enjoyable if excursions had diminished the number of people on land.
