Cabin: Deluxe Obstructed Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

My wife and I chose this cruise as we were looking to celebrate my 50 birthday and always wanted to do a cruise in this part of the world.

When we arrived in New York after travelling from the UK, we had a smooth journey to our pre-cruise hotel the Crowne Plaza in Newark. The hotel was comfortable and did its job. After a good nights sleep, we got up and started getting ready to leave the hotel and make our way to the port. Before we left, I managed to watch my football team Manchester United beat Middlesborough (that's right folks FOOTBALL, not that game you Americans call football)

The cab ride to the port was very good with a nice driver and given that it was a Sunday morning the roads were pretty clear, which made for a quick journey.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Obstructed Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin DO

The Cabin itself was great with lots of room and a good bathroom.

The only downside to the cabin was the obstructed view as we had a tender blocking the view.

We did not intentionally book this room, We booked this cruise as part of a special offer from our travel agent only to find out later that it was an obstructed view...we complained to both our travel agent and RC but was told the ship was full and they could not move us unless we wanted to pay thousands to upgrade to one of the top suits.

WE could not sit on the balcony due to constant maintenance of the tenders with constant banging of spanners and hammers and spraying of water around the general tender area. We did call guest services but this had no effect what so ever..
