This was only our third cruise we have ever taken. Our first two cruises were in high end suites on the Celebrity Reflection and this was the first time we went on a Norwegian cruise, getting a balcony mini suite that did not have some of the special amenities like a butler, or a private dining room. We got the mini suite for the extra big shower and bathroom as my husband is very tall. We did a week cruise out of Miami to the Western Caribbean ( March 5, 2017 to March 12th, 2017 and because we had booked our room through the Casino program, we got a priority embarkation.
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We thought the staff was exceptional and very friendly. We did book 5 specialty restaurants but the two nights we ate in the regular dining rooms we were very happy with the food, ambiance and service. The steward was excellent and the room was very clean with constantly providing clean towels and the Casino staff were very friendly. The cruise director was so upbeat and good!!! We saw the show Burn the Floor and it was awesome. The comedian in the comedy club was very funny and the bands playing at the pool and atrium were very good. No matter which cruise line I go on, the pool is never big enough on a sea day and always very crowded, but that does not bother me that much and as long as I could use the gym, I was fine.
We booked our excursions through private vendors to avoid the crowds getting off the ship. What surprised us was the quality of the food as it was very good. My only criticism is that on Celebrity Cruise lines, there was always an attendant who stayed in the public bathrooms cleaning and that was not the case on Norwegian. A couple of times the public bathrooms by the restaurants were not as clean as I would have liked and of course with so many people that is a concern. Overall, we had a great trip and plan to sail on Norwegian again.
It was adequate with a big bathroom, double sink and big shower. The bed was very comfortable.
