We just returned home from 8 days on the Sunshine and we couldn't be happier. This was our families very first cruise and we joined two other families for Spring Break. First and foremost, I want to say that reading some of these reviews had me very concerned that we would be disappointed. I am very happy to report the complete opposite. None of us were ready to leave when it was time to get off the ship. We had an amazing time.

The cruise director, Mason, was hilarious and engaging. He did a wonderful job of keeping everyone entertained and informed for what seemed to be 24/7. At the end of the cruise, my 14 year old said she would miss the "BOOP BOOP BOOP GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE FAMILY" announcement everyday from Mason. All of the fun crew were great. My kids vary in age from 7-14 and they all enjoyed the entertainment offered to them. My 7 and 10 year old both visited the kids clubs a couple times and really enjoyed it. My 14 year old hung out on the sports deck most of the time with kids her age.

We chose anytime dining and it worked out perfectly. The first night we went to dinner at 7pm with our entire group of 14, and the Maître D' promised us going forward he would have a table to accommodate us for the remainder of the trip at 7pm. He did not disappoint and we had the same table ready for us each night right on time and we were able to bypass check in. Our head waiter, Jose, was the absolute BEST. He remembered all 14 of us by name after day 1, our drink orders, our likes and dislikes. He honestly became like a part of our family! My kids adored him as did we.

Cabin 4C

The ONLY downfall of our trip was our cabin. I knew coming into this that the room would be small. I was not prepared for how small the room actually was. Fitting a family of 5 into our room was quite hilarious and similar to a game of Tetris but we somehow managed. Not sure how this is considered a "family cabin" - our friends (family of 3) were in a balcony room and it was nearly twice the size of ours. Considering we barely spent any time in our room other then to sleep and get ready, I would say it wasn't that bad. Just VERY tight and uncomfortable. I will def not be booking us in 1 room again going forward.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

Loved Grand Turk! We hung out at Margaritaville all afternoon. Beautiful, huge pool with easy access to the beach and shopping without having to leave the port. Perfect spot!
