Arrived at LaGuardia at 9am. Dial 7 Car sevice was very prompt at picking us up and taking us to the ship. We were in the first group to get on after the wedding party and VIP's. Headed straight to the buffet. Not crowded when we were there but it was early. Not crazy about any buffet food but had cheeseburger and pizza and it was always good. Very hot in New York the first day on the ship. We had packed our swim suits and sun screen in the carry on so after lunch we bought our fist drink of the day we headed to the pool area. Lots of deck chairs available. After a couple hours and a few more drinks of the day we headed to the shade. It was hot and humid! Sail away was fantastic. What a great city to sail out of. Talked to many New Yorkers on the ship and they pointed out the all the sites to us. And as soon as we sailed we had a breeze!!!! Day 2 sea day. Foggy and cool all day. Had too much sun the first day so it was ok with us. We did bingo, gambled a little in the casino, toured the ship. Lunch that day at the Chinese Noodle place. Very good! 17 yr old daughters favorite place to eat lunch all week. Had to time it right because it can get backed up. No problem for us, we're on vacation. No rush hour this week. Day 3 Saint John. Great day, beautiful sunshine, and blue skys. Walked around on our own. Trail to the reversing falls was easy walk. The town is very tourist friendly. Ate lunch in the City Market, lobster rolls! Then back on ship by 3:30 and enjoyed more sunshine, and a couple of beers! Day 4 Halifax. Another beautiful day. Purchased the hop on/off trolly pass. Good way to see the city. Had admission to the Citadel and Maritime Museum included. Halifax International Buskar's Festival was happening on the waterfront. Lots of fun there! Back on the ship to enjoy the sail away, and a couple of beers! Day 5 sea day. More sun on the Lido deck. Too much sun, got sunburned that day. We were very lucky this cruise on the weather. Day 6 Home. Breakfast and then head home. Always a sad day. Did self debarkation and Dial 7 car service picked us up for our flight home out of Newark. Can't say enough good things about this car service. Food: Ate most of our meals in the Paris Dining room. Like a sit down breakfast more than a buffet. Always went to buffet and got coffee, tea, and fruit to bring down to the cabin to have while we were getting ready for breakfast. We had late seating in the Paris dining room. Probably some of the best wait staff we have ever had on a cruise! Cabin: Balcony on deck 7. Room Steward was Charles. Great job keeping up with our room! Picky about my cabin, never get a guarantee cabin. I have to know exactly where it is. Don't put me under the disco! Loved having a balcony on this cruise. The ports were fun to sail in and out of from our room. Sailing in to Manhatten Saturday morning at sunrise was great. Got lots of good pics. Ship: I have only been on 4 cruises. Not a lot compared to some of the CC members but I really liked this ship. Not brand new but I thought it was in good shape. They had just layed carpet in our hall on deck 7. Still had the new carpet smell! Hot tubs were closed but water slide and pools were open every day. Casino took our money just like all the others. Ha! Show were good and bingo was fun!
