This is my first review but not my first cruise by a long shot (11th cruise since 2011). I was on the Regal Princess for the 2nd time (two different itineraries ) this past February. I returned to cruise again this year because my fiancée and myself so enjoyed this ship on our last cruise. We cruise the Caribbean a lot so usually don't choose a ship for the ports (we have seen them all) but because the ship has a lot to offer. We did take a cab ride down 7 mile beach in Grand Cayman and walked the most beautiful beach in my opinion in the Caribbean. When we are without family we have preferred in the past Celebrity, but as we have been on all the Celebrity Solstice Class ships we thought we would give Princess a try.

Like Celebrity they seem to cater to the 45 plus crowd probably because they are not geared toward children. Not many children's pools or activities going on. The Regal Princess is a newer ship ( though this ship needs a little overhaul which I think it is getting soon.) I booked my cruise through Princess which was my first mistake. Usually I book through Delta Cruises.com and they have been great in the past. My travel advisor at Princess must have been new and promised me things that I did not get. She told me that my credit would be on my account when I got on ship as well as specialty restaurant dining vouchers The bottom line don't believe anything unless it is in writing on your reservation. I spent much of my cruise in line at the Guest Relations desk trying to get these credits and am still dealing with guest relations to get our Refer A Friend discounts.

The door leading to the Veranda in our room would not close completely and it took 3 days to fix. Thank goodness the bed was comfortable At night there was a high whistling that made it hard to fall asleep The first cruise on this ship we booked a Mini-Suite and for the additional money it was worth having the extra room including a couch. Food was good at buffet but not as good as on Celebrity. Crown Grill was great specialty restaurant but I would pass on Sabatini's. Italian restaurant Alfredo's on Deck 6 Aft which did not cost extra to attend was a surprising delight .
