My Grandmother chose this ship for our family vacation. She, being a 4 star mariner, wanted to see the new ship and thought the family would enjoy our experience. 20 of us boarded the ship for an 11 day Caribbean cruise. The day we boarded, each of our rooms we're charged $12.50 per person per day as a service charge. Now the charge applies to everyone from infants to the elderly. So for me thats a $825 charge I was unaware of. Then they double it as a deposit for your onboard spending. So now I've been on the ship for less than 24Hrs and I've been charged $1650 in addition to the ticket price of the ship and half of that i won't get back because its considered a tip for the staff. Thats right, my 1 year old son had to tip the staff $137.50.

Lets move on to the service and staff. Demand a receipt after every transaction because the drinks changed price with every server not to mention the automatic 15% gratuity added to every transaction as well. They will give you the most expensive wine they can find if you don't specify what you want. Our second night in the dinning room we changed our seating up a little so eat with other family members, 4 of us never received our entrees and then were told we never ordered them. That fiasco went on the whole trip. Everyone that sat at that table got repeated poor service for the entire trip. Now remember we were already charged the tip for this service on day one.

My 1 year old son was not allowed in ANY pool on the ship so if my other kids wanted to swim one parent had to stay out and walk around with him. The free ice cream station was only open for a short time before they closed it and opened the payed ice cream station for most of the night. The food portions in the dinning room always left us hungry and in a hurry to get upstairs to the buffet before they closed and then you had to order payed room service. We watched in horror as a woman walked back up to the buffet counter and told the cook she found something else she wanted elsewhere on the ship and handed him back her plate which he proceeded to place back into the available food! Arif, our server, and Buddy and Jami, our stewards were the only competent people on the ship. Our room tv stopped working after 11pm. The sales people are overly pushy if they do help. I think they try to bore you into buying things. Sadly there is not much to do on this ship, it was just plain and boring. If sitting there doing nothing but waiting to die is your thing then this is the cruise for you. They should rename it Heavens Waiting Room. Even my grandmother was bored to death. Overall I've learned Pirates still exist in the Caribbean... they just pose as cruise lines.
