The cruise was chosen because it went the whole length of the Panama Canal and we wished to visit the ports on the Pacific and in the Caribbean. To that end, we thoroughly enjoyed the climate, environment, people and places all very new to us.

Just about all of the passengers were "seniors". Many were youthful, energetic and sharp-witted, but not all..

The Westerdam, despite being only 15 or so years old, seems tired and the forthcoming refit really needed.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VA

A bit tired and in need of a refurb and deep clean which I believe is taking place in Palermo in a few weeks. Curtains and carpet were past there best. Bed was large and comfortable.

Everything worked but lacked polish despite the efforts of the cabin stewards who were excellent.

Wardrobe was small - the hangers have to be at an angle for the door to close.

Electricity sockets are dual 110v US and 220v European. One was coming off the wall. TV was old with a poor picture on several channels. DVDs played OK.

We had a sofa bed for a third person. This too was in need of replacing as the fabric was dusty and needing replacing.

The staff/crew were first class.
