We are seasoned senior citizen cruisers who had never traveled on a Quantum-class ship. We selected this cruise to celebrate my wife's birthday.Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze; traveler friendly. Cabin was perfect. We loved the shower; best yet. Service was all we could expect. Quantity and quality of the food was outstanding. Dining room service staff were committed to making the overall dining experience memorable. Major entertainment activities in the Royal Theater and X-270 were highly professional. We did not take any shore excursions. None of the excursions were appealing. I use a four-wheel walker to walk, and sandy beaches are not walker friendly. Overall, a very enjoyable trip. Those are the positive aspects of the trip. Some criticisms are as follows:
We found the ship with 4400 guests and 2000 staff to be too big. "Enchantment of the Seas" is our favorite RCI ship. This ship allows the traveler to enjoy an intimate cruise. Because of the number of people on board we had to coordinate our entertainment and dinner activities each. We had to coordinate our reservations for "My Time Dining" (never had to do that before) and the nightly entertainment in the theater. The entertainment in the bars was good but not up to par with what we have enjoyed in the past.
Bottom Line: Royal Caribbean is still our favorite cruise line, but Quantum of the Seas is our least favorite RCI ship.
Met all of our needs.
