We always gravitate to celebrity if possible. The ship is clean and upscale, the food has improved over previous years. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating in all venues of the ship.
Our cabin was a standard balcony on the 8th deck,(8260) serviced by an excellent steward, Franklin. Always available for requests, and the room was spotless with a nice balcony. The location was great, easy access to the pool area, bars, shops and food venues. Shower was nice sized with glass doors and very hot water.
The service in the dining room was superb. We were in 2nd seating with Jaeston as our waiter and GiGi as our ever resourceful maitr d. Whatever we requested seemed to appear ,somehow. Great experience. The dinner menu is still not what it was in the past, no rack of lamb, veal, etc., but they did bring back the escargot anytime. Meats seem to be the weak offerings.
Nice cabin, quiet and convenient to the stairs and elevators. Steward was excellent. Storage is slightly tight, would prefer extra drawers. Miss the bedside tables with drawers for storage. I like the over the bed cabinets, but I am 6'2" and I think shorter people might need to stand on the bed to gain access..Shower was great, large, and glass doors. Ample storage in the bathroom with drawers and cabinets. Only drawback is facing toward the bow, there is an outcropping of rooms which prohibits extreme forward views of the ocean from the balcony.
We stayed 2 days prior to boarding the ship in south beach at the national hotel, great place, close to the vibrant life of south beach, and we could walk everywhere. Beach and pools great. Helps to extend that vacation.
good stop for water and other needs at walgreens or cvs by the port, some nice shopping at a coach outlet, etc. old san juan is fun to walk through, or visit the fort el moor, as my cousins did.
great shopping, beaches, etc.
Expanded shopping areas over the years, decent beaches and a golf course at the marriott..
