Just back from our 7 day western Caribbean cruise on the Silhouette. Since I was reading these reviews for months before our cruise, I thought I would pass on some things to educate others. The ship is very nice, cabins are adequate. Embarkation was a breeze, we were there early and able to board about 11 am. But the problem was nothing open, no restaurants, no bars til around 12 or 1. My recommendation would be to bring you swimsuit on your carry on and go to the pool. Disembarkation was a mess, lines and more lines. We had cabin 9362, which was nice with a small balcony. Entertainment was ok, we saw two comedians which were ok, but I more enjoyed the 4 man singing rock group, and also the 'Love' show which had dancing and singing and 2 amazing trapeze people. We were constantly asked if we wanted to upgrade, alot of pressure during the first few days.

The things I want to pass on for you is:

1). The drink packages. We had the classic beverage package. We knew there was a $8 cap on alcoholic cocktails. But our travel agent explained that if you wanted a more expensive drink, that you would pay the difference. Wrong. If you want a $15 martini, you pay all $15 plus tip. Drinks in the Martini Bar ranged from $11-$18.

Cabin C1

Adequate. Small balcony. Concierge gets you free champagne in your room when you get there.
