We wanted a cruise that allowed many activities for our children aged 18-24. This ship is the largest that I have ever booked and our first Royal Caribbean line. It offered rock wall climbing, many pools, zip lining, flow riding, etc.I had hoped despite having rooms for over 6,000 people that this ship would be prepared for those numbers. However be prepared for limited offerings and lots of waiting in line!! Still the children felt that there was nothing to do because the activities closed early and there was not enough activities for the number of people on this ship!
Even though I prepaid my gratuities and all anticipated costs, this trip continually added costs and additional tips were expected for good service. Most of the scheduled events offered on ship had additional charges incurred. There seems to be a constant upsell of items during the cruise (drink packages, tours of the kitchen, martini demonstration, gym classes, etc...). Food was very good aboard.
Having to make reservations for shows offered on the ship seems ridiculous. I go on cruises to relax and show up to an attraction if I so desire. However, if you didn't make a reservation prior to getting on board; you were not able to get into that venue. Plus plan on standing in line (AGAIN). For example the comedian show (offered in a small venue) was sold out for reservations 4 months prior to boarding. The best show was Absolute Journey as the headliner. This band was fantastic and played excellent journey tunes!! Also the diving show -Oasis of dreams aquashow was excellent.
Stateroom was adequate. Inside room but definitely not big enough for 4 (as advertised). I only sleep there so I didn't care about the size and amenities. There is NO shampoo or lotions supplied in the staterooms. Make sure to pack it!
Beach is gorgeous, but bring money as they are selling homemade items (bring your lounge chair set up tip)
