I have been cruising 15 times over the past 30 years with Carnival, Royal Carribean, Princess, MSC, Norwegian and Disney. 4 of those cruises were with Royal Carribean. The experience has just been deteriorating over those years. From a wow experience 30 years ago to an ok one now. The Adventure of the Seas is a quite old boat in need of serious renovations. The rooms are old, the furniture needs a revamp. The daily night shows were the worse I have attended in all of the 15 cruises. The only good show was the ice skating one. The buffet in the Windjammer is ok but would benefit from more variety. The coffee they serve is just horrific! The experience in the Saphyre Dining room was awesome mainly due to the outstanding service we had from SallyAnn and Mukeshkumar. The food was very good. However, we had a terrible experience over breakfast at the Saphyre on the Friday morning. The staff was disorganized, long waiting line while many tables were empty and waiting to be cleaned. Food was ok, not more. While we were waiting for our food, I saw a waiter take a plate that contained 2 eggs, potatoes and tomatoes, throw the potatoes in the garbage and take the rag he used to clean the counters and his hands to wipe the plate were the potatoes had left some marks. He then proceeded to serve the plate to the people close to our table. I complained to the head waiter. No wonder cruise ships experience stomach viruses!
The ports were great with the exception of Barbados. The ship was pretty clean as well as our room. However, our toilet got clogged on the 2nd day but fortunately the issue was resolved very quickly. I don't think we would go back on a Royal Carribean cruise. Other cruise companies such as Princess, Norwegian and Disney are much better.
Cabin was old and in need of renovations. Furniture was damaged and needs an update. Room was very clean though.
