Allure of the Seas cruise – and Fort Lauderdale – Trip Report
Who – DH and I (both 60) from the Chicago area
Overall notes: The Allure has a great crew! The service we received everywhere was great – and staff members we’d pass in the halls were always friendly. They work VERY hard – every day – with no days off (just a few hours off here and there) – most with 7 month contracts. So it’s amazing how they keep up their morale and the level of service. We got to know several bartenders – that were great (mentioned in the details) and our cabin attendant was fantastic. We loved the specialty restaurants – and one of the two MDR nights was good. There were a lot of kids on this sailing (heard over 1700) – but the areas we tended to hang out in appealed to adults, so it wasn’t an issue.
This cabin was similar to one we had on Liberty eight years ago. It's not huge, but very efficiently laid out with PLENTY of storage, and I overpack! We had four suitcases with us - and all fit under the bed. We did bring an over the door shoe holder to store a lot of odds/ends on the bathroom door. There was plenty of room for our clothes.
I picked this cabin location - forward on Deck 8 - near the forward elevators - for its convenience both the the Solarium and to Central Park. We were going to 3 of the restaurants there - plus spent a lot of time at Vintages. Central Park is beautiful - particularly at night.
Great embarkation
