I was worried about the cruise - that the reasonable price would mean a mediocre cruise. I was wrong! Starting with the quick trip from the New Orleans airport to the cruise terminal, everything went perfectly! Embarkation was quick - we were on board before noon. That process took less than 30 minutes and was extremely well run. Once on board, we had a great first meal on the lido deck. Then, our room was ready and we took a quick nap before exploring the ship. Everything was clean and gleaming! The crew was ever-present - picking up used dishes and polishing banisters and smiling. My 26 year old and 16 year old daughter and I shared a cabin very comfortably. Food: The food was excellent and plentiful. The Jubilee dining room at night made us feel like queens. Our waiter was quick and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. Excursions: The trip to Dzibilchaltun was informative and something I felt we should do. Our guide was interesting but it was HOT. The cenote was not inviting for swimming the day we went as it was covered with algae. Nevertheless - a great excursion. Consider stopping in Progreso on the way back - it appeared to be an authentic Mexican town. No one on my bus (but me) wanted to so I passed it up too. The Ultimate Adventure excursion in Cozumel was INCREDIBLE!! It is worth every dollar. First a 45 minute high speed boat trip down the coast of Cozumel. Then - 3 hours at a deserted beach - just your small group of 24 or so. We kayaked, looked for shell, snorkeled, then had a delicious Mexican lunch of chicken, guacamole, rice, fruit, etc. Soft drinks only but plenty were available. Then another high speed boat ride back to the cruise ship. My daughters loved the boat trip and the snorkeling. I will do Carnival again - they were WONDERFUL !
Quiet location. Stable feeling. Easy access to Jubliee dining room and public decks but little foot traffic in our hallway.
