We chose this cruise because we had experienced the larger Silhouette ship a couple of times in the Mediterranean, but wanted to experience somewhere closer to Australia. We really enjoyed previous Celebrity cruises, but were a little apprehensive sailing on the Constellation, because of all the negative reports we had read, mainly about the age/condition of the ship.

Let me first say the Constellation is in excellent condition. Sure they may be some areas of rust on the outside but for goodness sake the ship is 15 years old. It is not new!! The inside of the ship is in great condition and the friendliness/standard of service by the staff is first class.

This particular cruise of 14 nights Vietnam, Hong Kong, Philipinnes and Kota Kinabalu ex Singapore was a great itinerary, ending back at Singapore with a sea day between each port visit. It made for a very relaxing and enjoyable itinerary.

Cabin Review

Royal Suite

Cabin RS

The suite was very comfortable and easy to spend 2 weeks relaxing in. Tons of room inside and a huge balcony with loungers at one end and round table and chairs at the other. We did not use the outside spa so for us was probably a waste.

Did not hear any noise at all from the rooms on either side of us, although there was a connecting door on one side.

The suite furniture is dated, but I understand this will all be updated during the forthcoming ship Maintenence refit in May of this year.

Port Reviews

Da Nang

We joined a private group with other cruise critic members and had a great day although it was fiendishly hot during the afternoon. Da Nang/China Beach was ok, but after we visited Marble Mountain and particularly Hoi An which a quite beautiful. A small town with beautiful chinese architecture with french influence. It would be a lovely place to spend a few days.

Manila

Took a cruise line tour of Intromouros which is the old spainish town of Manila. Interesting from what we saw, but not somewhere I would feel the need to visit again.

Singapore

Because the cruise finished with a night in Singapore we took advantage of the fact we were docked at Marina Bay Ocean Terminal to visit the very nearby Gardens of the Bay attraction. It was very enjoyable and a lovely way to spend a few hours.
