Looking for a cruise scheduled for my son's birthday that stopped at Grand Turk. This one had good rates for a balcony at the time I booked.
Nothing was terrible, except for the (lack of) exercise classes. But when I go on a cruise & spend what is for me, a goodly amount of money, I expect better than just "not terrible." I want a nice cruise, comparable to most of my other cruises, and this one fell short.
The cabin steward did a good job, but was grumpy and even snappy at times for no reason I can think of - other than how hard they have to work & likely short on sleep. His assistant was at least very pleasant & friendly. I always, always pay our gratuities, and will tip extra for extra things. I had called for ice one day from room service, and all of a sudden he was there knocking on my door. I thought he had got up for the ice? But he was bringing laundry by. I mentioned calling room service for ice, and he said that's good because I'm on my break. :/ In any case I had not tried to wake him up so it seemed a less than friendly response.
Good cabin, extra long balcony (L shaped cabin). On deck 7 so no noise from night club below. Some problem with smokers nearby, and it was the stench of MJ not even tobacco, but you know live & let live. I wasn't about to complain about them as they weren't really hurting me, & it wasn't constant.
The cabin had plenty of room in it for me & my son, and the bed was comfortable enough. Storage was good. I love the L shaped cabins with the balcony door & a window for light. Only complaint, the room was ice cold. Even with the a/c shut off. Maintenance guy probably thought I was trying to hit on him, I had him out so many times trying to make the cabin warmer. Finally he shut the whole a/c off and it was better, I was freezing at night before.
