We purchased this cruise at an Auction. We have only cruised one time before and it was a short 3 day cruise and was a family reunion. Another couple went with us on this cruise and i have to say that while the service was excellent, the cruise was disappointing. While the weather was not very good for the first 4 days of the 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise (it was very windy with 7 foot seas one day), there was not too much going on during the cruise on the ship. Most of the activities that went on were the same everyday. There was only some piped in music by the pool, no bands or entertainment. With rough seas and cool weather, we spent most of our time in the lounges and it would have been great to have some entertainment. At night, the entertainment was the same just about every evening and just when the crowd gets into the music, the entertainment stops for the night. Almost quiet by midnight on the ship except for the Casino.

It was also disappointing that there was not entertainment during dinner. On our last cruise, the dinner staff put on some kind of show most nights. On one night at dinner we were asked if we would like to dine with some crew members the following evening. Though the Officer could not come to dinner, we had a very nice young lady from the Membership Counter come and have dinner at our table. That was very enjoyable and she made great dinner company.

We saw videos of other cruises and they definitely look more fun.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean-View Stateroom

Cabin C

Cabin 1002 was very nice. I was surprised by how big it was (I thought it would be alot smaller). It was comfortable for the short amount of time we spent there.

It is in the very front of the ship and you could feel all movement, forward and back and side to side (especially with rough seas). No noise from being close to main stage or from upstairs. Could not hear neighbors, but occasionally could hear noise in hall.

Speaker for daily announcements hard to hear, had to open door to get information since it did not record on the TV.

It was very windy, but loved Ft. Lauderdale. We stayed in one of the Hotels that Holland America is affiliated with . It was nice.

Half Moon Cay

was Beautiful! Was very windy so there were not excursions or beach activities available. did not stay on island for too long.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Had fun at Margaritta Ville and beach. Beautiful area. Did not go on excursion.
