Traveled with my wife and two year old son, had a great time! The ship itself is awesome. It has the perfect blend of family areas and more sophisticated areas for adults. Was my fourth cruise (NCL, Celebrity and Allure of the Seas) and had the best food on this one. Loved Jamie's Italian, also liked the sushi at Izumi and fish and chips at Michael's Pub. Wonderland was the one negative, not our style and not a good choice with a toddler. The included food was great too, we only ate in the main dining room twice but was very good both times.

For embarkation on previous cruises we would show up later during the process and walk right on without a line, however Anthem leaves rather early and you have a smaller window (10:30 - 1:30) to get on. Consequently we did have to wait in a line but they kept it moving and I didn't have any issues with the process. Disembarkation was super easy, we always carry our luggage off and had a short wait at customs.

The only negatives on our cruise were outside RCL's control, first off I can't say the weather was horrible but it wasn't great either. The biggest weather issue was that our stop to Coco Cay was cancelled, instead we had an extra day in Nassau. We had some sunshine but it never got warmer than the mid-70s with wind. Not much that can be done about that, and you know that a itinerary leaving out of NJ and going to the Bahamas isn't going to be the same as a Southern Caribbean cruise. The other issue is that our son didn't want to stay in the Royal Babies and Tots nursery, the women seemed very nice but he is going through a shy phase and didn't want to be around strangers. He lasted about half an hour the first time and we didn't go back.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Awesome cabin! We loved the layout, storage was great. Balcony was huge, close to elevators which has it's positives and negatives. The noise wasn't too bad but was more noticeable than previous cruises where our cabins were far away from the elevators. Still, we all slept great and the convenience factor of the location outweighed the slight increase in noise.
