My family and I choice the Norwegian Gem based on the itinerary and length of the cruise (10 days). The embarkation staff were efficient and helpful. Room, an inside cabin, was of average size but laid out nicely. Our cabin steward, Joel, was attentive, friendly and helpful. We ate in the Grand Pacific main dinning room for most of our dinners. The food was very good and presented nicely. We also had dinner in the Orchid Garden one night and the food there was some of the best "Asian fusion" we've had anywhere. The food in O'Sheehan's was good and had that familiar feel of the neighborhood pub to it but with a better view.

The entertainment was great. The cruise director Mark Bachiochi and his staff was fun to deal with. The on board comedian Tim Kaminski is absolutely hilarious.

We did hit rough weather on our first and last day at sea but the staff went out of there way to make sure that the passengers were comfortable and taken care of.

Cabin IC

The cabin was adequate for the price.

Port Reviews

San Juan

We went to Condado Beach which is about a 10 min ride from the port. Nice beach but a little rocky in places.

St. Thomas

We went to Koki Beach and had a fun time.

St. Maarten

We went to Maho beach and watched the planes come it to the airport right over our heads.

Tortola

To short of a stop to do much but there is a nice shopping area right at the port.
