We chose the Allure because it was our first cruise and I wanted the biggest boat I could get for the destination because I tend to get sea-sick easily. The boat is awesome! My husband got a massage - the hot stone massage. Don't know if he will do that again, hahahaha! He hurt a bit for a couple of days. I had my first facial with Paula and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, although laying there with the boat rocking slightly, I must admit I wasn't feeling too good and had to take some ginger root capsules. Speaking of which, I used the Sea Bands on both wrists for motion sickness the whole trip and it pretty much did the trick for me. I can get sick even in a car if my husband takes the curves to fast. After feeling sick after my massage I took the ginger root capsules every night as well and they really helped. There was one day on our way back from St. Maarten that was a bit choppy and made me not feel well so I went to bed early, but other than that, I did not have to put on the patches that go behind your ear, which I also came prepared with haha!

It was great to see different ports of call, although there seems to be just a lot of jewelry shopping there and not much else. The food was good on the islands. Everyone on the shore excursions were very friendly and very organized. Only complaint would be on St. Thomas, we took the excursion that took you into town for 2 hours of shopping, 2 hours of sightseeing and 2 hours on a sandy beach. Could not understand a word our driver was saying and the sightseeing part was him saying - see that on your left, as we quickly drove by! You have to have camera at the ready as you are driving by. We were taken to the top of the hill where you get to spend 20 minutes to take your pictures and do some quick shopping. That part was a little disappointing.

Getting on the boat and off the boat was so much smoother than I expected. Downloading the Mobile Passport app and taking your luggage off the boat yourself made it very easy & quick to disembark. We had a cabin with an outside cabin and am so glad we went that route. It was so relaxing to sit in the morning and watch the sun rise in the fresh air and it helped make the room feel so much larger than it was. Of course after being in that room for a week my husband said don't even think of downsizing to a tiny house, hahaha! We are already talking about where to take our next cruise.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D6

The size was good, especially with the outside balcony. The bed was dipped in the middle, which my husband put a few towels under the topper to help fill in the gap. I slept ok though.
