Cabin: AquaClass 1

This was a special holiday to New Zealand and the cruise was only part of the trip.

This was our fourth cruise with Celebrity in a solstice class ship. We were persuaded to "upgrade" for Aqua class.

Whilst the overall service was its usual standard, the position of the Aqua class cabin on deck 11 was far below the standard expected. Due to the position under the wide overhang of the upper deck (deck 12), the balcony was always in shade and the view heavily obstructed by the lateral supports for the deck overhang above. The deck on the balcony was always wet from either spay or drips from above and the view further spoilt by the poor standard of maintenance (rusted superstructure, discharge from ships air conditioning system directly over our balcony - and sections of the roof rusted and not properly secured). This was a major disappointment. There was also an issue with noise first thing in the morning caused by the crew dragging into positioning the sun loungers on the deck directly over our cabin.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 1

Cabin A1

Excluding the balcony area, the cabin was the usual good standard, although the wardrobe was showing signs of its age, the bed was very comfortable and the shower room well equipped.
