Cabin: Central Park View Stateroom with Balcony

We booked this cruise for two reason: 1) Because it was departing from Port Canaveral, a short drive from home and 2) Because it is one of the largest cruise ships in the world and we just wanted to go to sea with her. It was a great choice and a fun ship.

For the first time, we booked an inside cabin. this one had a balcony over looking Central Park and in the evening every night of the cruise we had an incredible violinist and her pianist husband who filled the entire area with three hours of awesome music, so beautiful that it was difficult to leave it to go to dinner. We found that we never missed our outside cabin and balcony.

I'm not a big fan of cruise ship food but in general, the food was a notch above normal in all of the regular facilities. However, the specialty restaurants which charged extra were just average. I ordered a filet at their highly touted "Chops" restaurant and half of the steak was excellent while the other half was inedible. I also found drink prices to be outrageous, with a simple highball (bourbon and coke) cost $10.00 including gratuity. And cruise ship companies wonder why people try to smuggle their own alcohol on board.

Cabin Review

Central Park View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin C2

Our cabin was a bit smaller than we are used to on smaller ships but just above being cramped. The bathroom was tight but easy to use. Our cabin steward was the best we have encountered in more than 20 cruises. He was unobtrusive but always available when he was needed seemingly any time during the day.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Always fun and great snorkling but too cold this trip. Good place to shop for native stuff.

Falmouth

Another good place to shop for native stuff but prices were a bit high. Falmouth did not look very inviting from inside the fenced in port area. Frieds said it was scary.

Cozumel

Best prices of the entire cruise. Found very good quality tee shirts for $5.00 each. Native products were also very reasonable compared to other ports.
