We love NCL overall and the Epic, while quirky, is a great ship!!

PROS: Excellent Staff! Great food! More than enough options for entertainment! Everywhere I went the ship was spotless (including public restrooms), regardless of what time of day or how many people were out & about. POSH access... enough said! We had the coolest room ever on an NCL ship this trip. In the past, we've had issues with the A/C not getting quite cool enough but it was on point this time! It's never been a "deal breaker" or anything that has ever ruined my trip. Kind of a small thing but it was really really nice :-) . Our cabin steward(ess) was probably the VERY BEST we've ever had in 10+ cruises. Her name was Aubrey and we absolutely loved her. She brought a smile to our face every time we encountered her. The entertainment was excellent as always. I know the Cruise Director and his staff work hard to create a memorable experience for everyone. The weather was great (which is out of our hands as far as being able to control) but it was so nice to have such great weather. We had some rough waters on the last sea day and a cool start to our visit to Great Stirrup Cay... but, again, not enough to ruin our trip.

CONS: This was a FULL cruise. We've sailed the Epic before around this same time of year and it was nowhere nearly as crowded as this trip. The layout of this ship contributes to it, IMHO, as we've also done a fully booked NCL Getaway and it didn't feel nearly as "full". The food was great but not as memorable or outstanding as I've experienced in the past with NCL but... with that said, I'm always impressed with the cooking staff by prepping, cooking, setting tables for 4000+ passengers 3+ meals a day! What killed me was watching passengers complain, belittle and act plain rudely towards dining staff.

OTHER: We love NCL. We do a LOT of research and always find them to be the very deal for the $$ out there. As I'm typing this, my husband is booking our next cruise with NCL which will put us at Gold Status once we complete it :-) . It actually makes me a little sad that I overheard people stating how horrible of a trip it was and how they'll NEVER sail again or will never sail with NCL again. I think a lot of folks have either unrealistic or competely unfounded expectations of what a cruise is or should be.

Cabin Review

Large Balcony

Cabin B6

Loved our cabin! This is a "cove-style" balcony which some folks don't enjoy but we really really did! it gives you a lot of privacy along with much appreciated shade. AND... IT. IS. HUGE.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

I give this 4 stars instead of 5 ONLY because Disembarkation was a bit chaotic and super crowded

Ocho Rios

not our fave port but we do have a favorite, LOCAL jerk-chicken place that we enjoy so we did some shopping and had lunch. Friendly people and really beautiful scenery.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Beautiful port but there were 6 ships in port that day so VERY crowded. We visited the Cayman Spirits Company for some rum tasting and shopping.

Great Stirrup Cay

We've done 4 NCL cruises but this was the first one on which we visited GSC. It is GORGEOUS and the attention to detail certainly shows. The morning started out very chilly but sunny. We enjoyed the beach area, had some drinks and lunch and wandered around to see the scenery. If/When this is on our itinerary again, we will definitely plan to do one of the excursions.

Cozumel

We absolutely LOVE Cozumel!!! We did a 3rd party excursion at Chankanaab Park where we swam with a Sea Lion and it was AWESOME!!!
