My husband and I were keen to try a cruise, but had limited holiday dates, and this was the only cruise available to us. We had no idea what to expect but the all inclusive deal seemed great value. We were not disappointed. It's an older ship and it shows, but we had no other cruise experience to compare it to. Yes, compared to a hotel, the cabins were small, particularly the shower room, but the stewards came in twice daily; once to clean, and once in the evening to tidy and turn down the beds -leaving a chocolate on the pillows. Every evening we wondered what sort of towel animal would be waiting for us - cute touch.
The food, drink and entertainment was all good quality. We particularly enjoyed the nightly stage shows, which were professional quality. We tried all the restaurants, and the food was good in each. The waiting staff served drinks at your table, and the service was efficient and friendly.
The formal evening was pretty much just one queue for a professional photograph after another, followed by dinner. I bought 3 photos for £45. I'm glad I have those mementos of our first cruise, but wouldn't spend that much on photos again.
We were on deck 3, towards the front of the ship. It was small but had plenty of storage. We had two single beds in a L shape which wasn't ideal, but it was comfortable and clean.
