Enjoyed our cruise, we stayed on board for back to back for 20 days. The true facts. If you are Canadian or American they do write USA water on your ship card, so you can get water or sparkling water at dinner, at no charge. But water is always available at the buffet. You get juice at breakfast only, which is normal on cruises. Coffee and tea is always available at the buffet. Keep in mind this is a Italian cruise line, that caters to many different cultures, so yes announcement are in 6 different languages, if it not in your language it will be if you need to know about it, be patient. We were impressed by the cruise director Max whom could switch languages quickly, nice guy to talk to, and an Italian born Canadian. Now for the different cultures, we found a lot of the Europeans rude, a real me society, you need to let people off the elverator before you barge in, don't jump in front of people in the buffet, don't smoke where you are not suppose to, people 4 tables down don't need to hear your conversation, you don't need to shout. Don't throw your ashes and cigarette butts overboard, don't smoke in your cabins, and don't leave your matters at the airport. And don't treat the staff rudely. I am of European descent and was shocked at these people. It was nice to have a no smoking casino, we were actually able to play in comfort, the machine were fun and we managed to earn a few drinks and make a small amount of money. The drinks earned thou were had to get, you really had to go out of your way to find an attendant and waiter.
We had a supreme balcony cabin on the 6th floor, the room is large with lots of storage, great balcony, but some days hard to enjoy with all the smokers, Costa one of the few cruise lines that still offer this, which I found dangerous because of the rude smokers flicking there ashes and cigarette butts overboard. Our cabin Stewart Jesmar, was wonderful, a very hardworking young man, always making sure that everything was perfect for us. Dinners in the dining room were wonderful, and yes they are slow paced, but what else do have to do? Enjoy your dinner and have fun with your dining guest. Both cruises we had a great group of people we ate with. The food is very good, you have a great variety and lots of courses, so you will get full. Breakfast and lunch in the dinning room, were ok, but most of the time the food was good, but a real language bearer with other guest they would sit you with, wish they would sit you with other English speaking guest.
The evening entertainment was good, some shows were better than others. The dancers were very high engery.
Get location, close to the elverators and stairs, but very quiet. Large cabin with good layout and lots of storage.
Spend a few days,
Best to stay at the port, which has a great pool, with free lounge chairs, there is a crew store right under where the zip line ends, you can find cheap beer, for $2., don't don't bother with beach next door, long walk, expensive beer and chairs and you need water shoes, not a nice beach.
Took a public bus to the beach, which was a fun experience
Yucky industry dock, the cabbies try to rip you off, not my favourite port
Took the local bus to 7 mile beach to the public area, there is a liquor store across from the beach for cheap beer and chairs are $5.00 each and umbrellas $10
Went to a beach, visit the gas station across the road from the taxi area for cheap beer
We stayed at dock they have a great beach, and off the dock is a coral reef, the negative expensive beer and no free Wifi
