We are diamond and have sailed a lot of different lines mostly staying loyal to Royal. We booked this cruise to sail with a freshman in high school. So imagine my surprise when we quickly realized that this ship was Girls gone wild with 2300 college students. Turns out a travel agent at the end of January- after final payment was due ... took all remaining rooms and took them to Florida State University- and sold it as a charter. But, no one told the regular people on board. Now I know that sailing at Spring break means that you will have more kids and could include college kids. What this was is not even describable. Vomit in the pool ... closed the pool. Vomit in the hallways... the elevator. Girls hanging out of their suits with dental floss in their bums... being allowed to look like that in every venue..Windjammer, Viking lounge, promenade bar and sorrentos etc. It truly was a parents nightmare because they were drunk, rude and had horrible language. There were issues with weed. There were issues with fighting. There were issues with fraternities chanting back in forth in the dining room at dinner... issues with bare feet on the table at dinner.. I mean you really can not make this up. The crew called it a charter. The stores sold special college spring break t-shirts. The cruise director called it a college fest and pointed out all these different competing colleges.

The only people who seemed to not get the memo were the ones that were on board not part of this "charter."

Turns out they are making the Independence a party boat. Several crew said that.
