My wife & I chose this cruise to Central America because we wanted to travel down the Mississippi River and see where it empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Since my sister lives just north of Lake Ponchatrain, she decided to join us on this cruise. She enjoyed this her first cruise and would like to cruise again.

Getting to the cruise ship terminal was not easy, one of the most difficult and time consuming because of the traffic leading to the terminal. However, once we were able to get into the terminal the embarkation went well. The only line to speak of was to go through the security screening.

The ship was nice and clean, not much wear on it since it was reconditioned last year. The only thing we did not like was all of the smoke in various parts of the ship. Even though there was an enclosed room for cigar smoking, it was very noticeable in the bar and restaurant near it.
