We wanted a short trip to escape midwest winter. Thought the 1st week of March would be ok, since most schools have spring break later in the month, BAD MISTAKE! Now we know NEVER in March at all!!! They college kids took over the pool and then overflowed into the Solarium. One bright girl stated, "why don't they have same music over here". I let her know because it supposed to be a quiet sanctuary for adults. She looked at me as if I grew another head. Anywho, regarding the ship, it okay, after so soon being on both the Freedom and Voyager classes, it seems so small. They have the Centrum, but actually seating is for about 30, standing around and on other levels looking down gives you about another 100, but not like the ships with a Promenade in which you can have hundreds standing and sitting and enjoying whatever entertainment is happening at the time. I can say, they did have great bands and they played quite often all over the ship. As RCCL ships go, it is fairly clean and you see folks repairing and cleaning all the time. The staff was nice and efficient, no complaints.

The food is still on that slippery slope, but there were some bright spots. One lunch in Windjammer has a super Nacho that was awesome! Also did some other super dishes through the week, like spaghetti. I didn't eat it but the others really seemed to like it. Did eat in both Chops and Giovanni and they were delicious. The headliner one night was an awesome singer, Stephani Parker. Used to be a part of the entertainment staff for another cruise line, has now gone solo. You can tell, she was clearly very comfortable preforming on a cruise ship. Overall, I enjoy RCCL and know what to expect. Most times you can't really tell how many people you are sharing your space with, but with this cruise and with at least 1/3 of the ship is college students, it seems extremely small. Also, because of college kids, they didn't not deliver liquor purchased on shore the night before disembarking as normal, you had to go claim it the morning of. This was kinda of a pain with all the other things you have to be concerned with that morning. The nice thing was they had more security around the ship such as the pool and lounges and during ports of call. We have booked another trip for Europe/Mediterranean cruise for October. Pretty sure we won't see any spring breakers there.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin H

Cabin is great, close to customer service, but quiet. Great large window, perfect for short trips. Lots of natural light. However, on longer trips or trips with great views, like Alaska, would recommend a balcony. Cabin steward, Katia was not seen for a couple of days, but she keep the room clean and made several towel animals ( i love these) and left her card with a note. We did request our robes and got them straightaway. We didn't have any other needs, so this was ok.
