I just returned from a wonderful week aboard the Getaway. My 78 year old mother and I stayed in one of the forward Penthouse Haven suites. The first time I booked a Haven suite and was told we would have a butler, I did not know what the butler's job was. After my third cruise in the Haven, I have a better idea of what to expect! The butler will remind you of dinner reservations and show times - keep you on schedule. He will bring afternoon tea with a snack. He will serve breakfast in the room. He will pack your bags - if asked. He will make sure lost tickets are replaced. The butler is one of my favorite perks when staying in a haven Suite!! I am spoiled forever!!! One of the great perks when staying in the Haven, is priority embarkation and priority disembarkation! I can't put a price on this particular benefit - priceless if waiting in long lines cause you angst!! My favorite show was 'Burn The Floor'. I loved the other shows, too. The Illusionarium is definitely worth the extra money - a must see. My son and his fiancé' were booked in an inside cabin and we met up for dinner nightly. The dining package was enjoyed by all. We had great meals in every specialty restaurant we went to. We also ate at the main dining room and enjoyed those meals as well. A favorite for late night snacks was the O'Sheehan's Pub midship. The only negative I found was the casino. My experience the 2 times I have cruised on this ship have been the same. The casino is one of the tightest I have ever experienced. I have been taking 2 cruises a year for many years and THIS casino was the worst I have experienced when it comes to payouts. I don't just mean me personally - this is an overall assessment. The staff is great and very friendly. I just think whomever decides on payout percentages needs to re-evaluate - if they truly want people to gamble.
