My husband and I enjoyed this one-our fourth cruise, but not as much as some others. We thought that the staff members we encountered were nearly all pleasant and cheerful, and went out of their way to be of help when there were problems. We had no problems in getting aboard the ship within 45 minutes of arriving at the terminal, however the disembarkation process was like being in steerage on a sinking Titanic! Please offer your guests some complimentary refreshents on their way OFF your ship, and not just upon arrival...and dont ask them to sit on the floor in a room where there are no seats left waiting to disembark, and then make them stand in line in the freezing cold for another hour (or more) waiting to find their luggage and get through customs. It is true that in general, the entertainment offered on board is of a higher calibre than other cruises, and we did not find that we had to book as far in advance to obtain seats as some have suggested here. I think our bigguest disappointment was the food. We are not used to having to spend extra for specialty restaurants, but after dining just once we upgraded to the full week of fine dining package to avoid the main dining rooms, which all serve the same lacklustre foods. We did enjoy most of the specialty restaurants, but did not feel that they were really quite worth the price we paid overall. Our favorite, Ocean Blue, even added an additional charge to the package deal, but we went twice in spite of this.
Most days it was very nicely cleaned. We found they have a lighting system which once caused us to miss a cleaning, but that was our fault.
We love NYC! Took long time to get from LaGuardia to mid town manhattan hotel due to construction in tunnel, so best to arrive early or better yet....the day before. Went to a show and dinner that night, all within fifteen minutes of the hotel.
