Myself and three friends were reuniting from across the globe, (USA, UK and New Zealand). We had cruised before but none of us have been to Singapore/Malaysia. We all arrived at the very efficient airport in Singapore on time and made our way to our hotel. We stayed for 3 days in Singapore prior to cruise and packed a lot of things in our itinerary! Much fun was had, from Chicken Rice in Chinatown to zip-lining on Sentosa! On embarkation day we left our hotel for the short taxi ride to the port. Embarkation was efficient and pretty smooth. The mandatory lifeboat drill was AWFUL!!! Being made to stand outside on the deck with temperatures in the 90's and probably 90% humidity was ridiculous! People were passing out and feeling bad, not good.

Our balcony cabin was lovely, and was even better once we were able to have the adjoining balcony door removed as we had 2 cabins for 4 of us next door to each other, and now a nice big balcony to enjoy! We had purchased the drinks package so started to take advantage of it straight away. In a nutshell we thought the ship was lovely, food was great, lots of variety, although the choice for dining after 9pm not so good. We all like to eat late, so after being off the boat all day, getting back to room, enjoying a glass of wine, getting in shower etc. we were always running to dinner at the last minute and missed many of the shows, quizzes etc because of the timing. All staff in the restaurant were amazing.

Our favorite spot was the piano bar, Patrice from Montreal was awesome. The club was fun too. Was hoping for a "theme "night but that didnt really happen. There was definitely a different "vibe" on this ship than others I have been on, maybe because of the Asian influence?? And a new port every day left us pretty tired, but they were great! Went to Kuala Lumpur, Petronas Towers, (well you have to!!) and toured around a bit, long way from port. Langkawi was chill, just stayed on beach. Penang was great, Loved staying overnight in Phuket, although our shore excursion was a wash out and left 2 of our group very ill the whole day. We had booked to go on the snorkeling trip to "The Beach" island, but the seas were very rough and when the speedboat set off for the 90 minute journey, we only made it about 15 mins before people were throwing up! The decision was made to turn around and we were refunded, but 2 of my friends had to go back to ship and lay down they felt so bad. Karon beach was beautiful . We were also ripped off by a taxi driver in Penang, we booked him for 3 hours, but he ended up persuading us to go places we hadn't planned on. He was lovely, but obviously tried to make the time more and we ended up paying for 5 hours. Partly our own fault, we should have put our foot down and told him "no", but we did see some lovely sights! Penang hill was awesome!

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Plenty of room, loved the balcony, didn't spend a lot of time in it really!! Our steward was very friendly.

Port Reviews

Singapore

Got taxi's everywhere, Marina Bay Sands, great views, Gardens by the Bay, amazing. Sentosa Island, did zip-line, great! Orchard Rd, shopping. Raffles, of course for Slings. Changi Museum, quite moving. ChinaTown, souvenirs, cheap, cheap!!

Kelang (Kuala Lumpur)

Got taxi into city, Went to Petronas Towers, then scenic tour. Long way but worth it.

Penang

Taxi driver took us to some shops, chocolate, sarong/shirts and coffee/tea. Went to Penang Hill , had to go up windy roads in jeep as the funicular was closed for maintenance, but amazing at the top! Visited a couple of temples, Sleeping Buddha and an amazing house where the owner greeted us and had a photo with us!

Langkawi

Just chilled on beach, wanted to go on cable car, but were all out of energy...!
