We selected this cruise to get away from cold midwest winter weather and to check out the new HAL ship. Full disclosure: I have sailed to the Caribbean many times before on HAL and other cruise lines. I am a 4 star mariner.

Overall, I was disappointed with the Koningsdam relative to other ships in the HAL fleet. While it is a beautiful ship it struck me as more in line with the Royal Caribbean or Carnival style.
