As most of you have probably heard The Splendor had a mechanical issue on the 2/26/17-3/5/17 voyage. Things happen and Carnival made things right (in our opinion). As for the ship and amenities - wonderful. Been on a number of Carnival trips and this was my favorite ship. I loved the layout. Some may say the décor is a bit gaudy but we aren't picky about that stuff. Staff kept the common areas clean and dry of pool water.

Our cabin was on the Lido deck just 55 steps to the open deck (yes...I counted). Great location...no noise from any side. The balcony cabin (9278) was typical for a Carnival ship. It was clean due to the wonderful staff. Plenty of space for the two of us.

As for the food - it was the best we have experienced on any of our trips. Can't stress that enough. And there were healthy choices as well. Burritos, deli sandwiches, the Wok, Carvery, BBQ...all delicious. Main dining was equally as pleasing. Also the wait staff was wonderful as usual.

Cabin 8E

Nice location. In the first set of cabins just inside the Lido deck but out of the way of busy travel lanes. You have to go through two doors to walk past our cabin...easier to go to the common area.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

Took a taxi to Bohio Resort for some beach time. Beautiful. Water was blue as could be but a bit cold. Drinks and food were expensive however.

San Juan

Simply got off ship and went to Senor Frogs and Tijuana for some drinks. Nothing fancy.
