We have sailed Royal Princes two or three times (can't remember) and Regal Princess twice along with various other Princess ships (and other cruise lines). Our favorite experiences of all our cruises have been on Royal Princess. We have always experienced happy, upbeat staff, excellent service at all venues, great layout (with a minor exception), great entertainment, and have been able to disconnect, relax, and recharge. They have always been able to accommodate the seating we wanted in the main dining room and service has been outstanding. Unlike other lines we have cruised with, the buffet upstairs in my opinion is as good as any venue as well. We always are able to find seating, and the staff is immediately there to get your drinks. The buffet is as close to full service experience that you can get. Cabins are nice with great TV's and lots of shows an demand to choose from.

Our favorite thing to do is to take a book and sit in the Piazza area. There is almost constant entertainment there and nice music and dancing at night. It is a great way to chill, or - if in the mood - reach out and meet some fellow passengers. All of this is true of the Regal except the staff has always seemed more tired -- less energetic -- on that ship for some reason. They are both fantastic and you will get great service on any Princess ship. It is just that our favorite is the Royal Princess.

There was a situation during the night on one cruise which caused the captain to have to make announcements into the staterooms. He was professional about it, apologetic for disturbing us, told is what we needed to know, and updated us nicely a few times until the situation was resolved. He made what could have been a very upsetting situation calming the way he handled it. He was there immediately when the issue started about 1:00 AM and on the intercom. We were so fortunate to have such a fantastic leader aboard on that trip. In summary, our favorite cruise line is Princess and our favorite ship is the Royal Princess with the Regal a close second.

Cabin Review

Balcony

I don't remember our cabin number. It was an obstructed balcony. Don't let that scare you. The view is not obstructed that badly and they are a great value.
