We wanted to return to Hawaii and this was the 9th Princess Cruise. I am thinking I will never cruise Princess again. The ship temperature was not for passengers but hauling raw meat. People were wearing winter coats on the ship. The audio was so loud even in the Piazza one had to scream at the Passenger help desk to be heard. It did come down some but was so loud I attended only a half of a show. The comedian remarked who knew he would be on a Hawaiian cruise having to walk around in a Parka. I was glad I had an obstructed view room as it was too cold and windy to use a balcony.

The food was subpar. Sending it back generally did not lead to positive results even for me or my fellow traditional dining table. The only saving grace was the international cafe. Air borne illness was rampant and I became ill for the first time on a cruise Had to pay 95 dollars to see the doctor and while there many came in with my symptoms and left as they did not want to pay.I was not encouraged to see the doctor telling me maybe I should get over the counter medicines. I was isolated for 24 hours missing a port. Feeling poorly I had to redo my itinerary and did not go on many planned excursions but took less strenuous ones. As weather was raining in two ports many excursions were cancelled anyway (act of God, just added to the misery).

The staff were in general friendly and helpful (for a positive). Ensanada was an enjoyable surprise. However after once again being surrounded by coughing, sneezing, etc. I awoke on disembarkment day in misery. Stayed overnight at the hotel and went no where. Came back and had to see a doctor immediately for bronchitis (which I had told them I had on Princess). The Marriott Hotel we were placed at was undergoing renovations and we had to pay 20 dollars out of pocket to be moved away from the noise. Nothing was free. No coffee maker in room. Hotel restaurants were extremely high in price. Buffet breakfast was 20 dollars a person. Only thing free was water. Could not use luggage caddy without bell man and had to tip for that. Wound up walking to a Denny's and a fast food place. Neighborhood beyond Marriott was dicey with any homeless people in the evening.

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin OV

The cabin was a decent size and the obstructed view was minimal. Not sure of category and do not feel like looking it up. It was generally quiet and clean. Only noise was when the tender was lowered which was close to our room.

Port Reviews

Kauai

We were suppose to go to Wamaie Canyon but did not. We walked around the port and enjoyed the nearby park and using the shuttle to the malls.Ate at a eatery right on the beach. Glad we did not go to Wamaie as fellow passenger's said they couldn't see it due to fog.
