After an unusually cold and snowy winter we were looking for a little reprieve! We were going to drive to San Francisco but after watching the flooding and landslides and discovering that there are no hotels that have "park and sail" options near the pier we had to fly. Princess transfer was excellent in every way. We were in our staterooms by 12:30.We had balcony room on port side Aloha deck and it was very convenient to the elevators/stairs. The only downside was the moving of something heavy every night and morning. We did hear people with heavy shoes walking on the Lido deck.We wanted traditional dining but were on a waiting list (#72) so we had anytime. Most nights the wait was 5-15 minutes, but 2 nights it was over 30 minutes. We felt that the choices for meals was more difficult than in the past and we are not fussy eaters. We knew to expect crowds in the shows so for the most part we did not go and if we did we got there 45 minutes ahead to get a seat. We did not do any shore excursions, choosing to wander the ports on foot. We had two young ladies in the room next to us who smoked on their balcony. I wished we had mentioned it earlier so that we could enjoy our balcony the whole time. Despite the dry dock before our cruise the ship is still a little shabby in places. The shops were a bit high priced but you expect that, especially duty free liquor which we can get at Costco cheaper. We did buy the wine package to save a bit on our dinner wine. We did have our credit card hacked in Mazatlan after one purchase and it was declined by our company as it triggered their fraud people. We put our money down for a future cruise, but not sure it will be out of San Francisco.
Cleaner than we remember when we took taxi into town for shopping
Shopped at the pier marketplace and our card number was hacked. Took a taxi ride to the golden zone and 5 people in a small car was uncomfortable. A waste of $50!
Walked into town, but too warm to spend much time
Travelled on a Princess bus
Took a taxi into downtown for shopping and walked back along the marina.
