The Gem is our favorite ship! Embarkation went very quickly. A few issues with changing the time of our docking, but it also went smoothly once docked. We hit some rough seas for a bit but that is Mother Nature. The food in the main dining rooms have changed and I believe it is better than before. The service was outstanding, as always. We like to have breakfast in the dining room to avoid the crowds, plus we are on vacation, I like to get waited on. We also ate in Cagney's and Moderno, both wonderful. Nothing can beat Cagney's filet mignon and Peter was an excellent and attentive server. We had an inside room. I would rather sail inside and sail more often. Our room steward was Clarke, we never had to ask for anything because he always had everything done for us. Room was cleaned every day, not just change of towels. A different towel animal every night. Some of the entertainment is new, which made the trip more entertaining, not the same old shows. Mark was our cruise director and he did a great job and made a point of speaking with everyone he saw. Definitely love NCL and the Gem.
Cabin was clean and had plenty of storage. Only issue is when the beds are pushed together, it is difficult to squeeze by the table to get into bed. Otherwise, the room was great for us.
Went to the beach, the waves were very rough but a lot of fun.
