My sister and I were on the February 26 cruise. Overall, we had a good time but we did find some stumbles along the way. The major problem was with dinner. Our dining room was in the Grande, a really nice venue. Food overall was very good, but service left something to be desried. Service was slow, with dinner lasting an average of two hours. I think the waitstaff was overwhelmed. Our waiter and assistant waiter were very attentive, but there was too much time between courses. Food in the Windjammer was varied, plentiful, and generally good. In spite of the large number of diners, we never had a problem finding a seat. The staff were quick to clear off tables.
Another issue we had was that in the Royal Esplanade in the evenings there were several sources of music all being played at the same time...just made for a loud jumble of noise. We also went to "We Will Rock You" and even though I wore earplugs (past experience with the shows) the music was WAY too loud.
We spent most of our time in the Solarium, and noticed that the pool patrol was very vigilant in emptying chairs of the "chair hogs'" belongings. On one occasion we were facing several loungers that had apparently been "saved" with towels. We had been there several hours when a pool attendant placed some kind of marker on each chair. She came back anout 45 minutes later and removed all the towels. We gave her a thumbs up! We were there several more hours and the original "occupants" never returned.
We were surprised by the tiny room, probably the smallest we were ever in, but there still was enough storage space. After all, we didn't spend much time there. We only saw our attendant twice but he did a good job. No real complaints with the cabin.
Very easy embarkation.
