The Millennium is an older ship; we last sailed on her in 2004. After reading all the negative reviews, we were skeptical of what we might find onboard. However, we were pleasantly surprised with lovely, redone public rooms and an extremely clean ship. Yes, you could see the wear on the wooden handrails and the paint was chipping around the sliding doors in the cabin, but we saw constant maintenance while we sailed. For the last several years, we have been sailing on the newer Celebrity S class ships and had forgotten how wonderful the M class ships were. The size of the ship is perfect for easily getting around, the storage in the cabin is better, and the bathroom is larger with more storage. Yes, you will see some wear on the ship, so if you like sparkly and new, maybe the Millennium is not for you.

The service we received on the ship was some of the best we have ever experienced. From our stateroom attendant, who was phenomenal, to our waiter, who was efficient and pleasant every night, to the servers in the evening Elite cocktail parties, who went out of their way to serve you what you requested, to the friendly Captain's Club officer, who had a cheerful attitude every evening, we experienced nothing but the best service on the Millennium. Another bonus, was that the captain and his staff made themselves visible around the ship and were always friendly and accommodating. For us, the service was definitely a plus.

We ate most evenings in the main dining room and had breakfast and lunch in the café.

Port Reviews

Hanoi

We spent the day on a boat tour in Halong Bay.

Da Nang

Hue is an interesting city with many ancient sights.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

Traveled around the city with a friend who lives there, rode on the bikes, ate lots of good food....

Singapore

We saw a lot of the city. We visited the zoo, Raffles Hotel, did a river cruise, went to the Botanic Gardens...

Hong Kong

We stayed in Hong Kong for several days and booked tours through our hotel. We enjoyed the city, our hotel, the views, cruising on the river, and the food. The smog is bad and there is a lot of construction in the city.
