Have been on lots of lines. Wanted something with upscale dining. The itinerary was not important but the characteristics of the ship were very important. I think I liked best (after the cuisine) was what the ship did not have. It did not have photographers in your face. It did not have the Captain's Welcome Aboard with the cheap gin and wine. Forgive me but it did not have children. It did not have the deck games and ice carving. It did not have a huge casino. I could probably think of more. Anyway, it did have: excellent food, superior service, a beautiful decor, passengers with some sophistication and wide travel experience. I was not crazy about the cruise stops. Grand Cayman is Grand Cayman. The two Mexico stops (Cozomel and Costa Maya) were pseudo Mexico and did not offer very much. Guatamala was pretty good and in fact I did not buy a ship tour but rather one on shore (Happyfish) and it was quite good and a lot of fun. I was very disappointed in the visit to 'Belize'. It was simply a stop at an island created for the cruise ships. You could only get to the mainland (which was only 3 miles away) if you bought a ship tour. There was a small village that might have been visited if you could get there. You could not. I had a enthouse on deck 11.
450 square feet. Wonderful. Butler service.
