We choose this cruise because it was a golden wedding anniversey and husbands 70 birthday.And last year was an annos horribilus for our family with to of the family being hit by the big C.Although ok now , it took its toll.

Any way we arrived at Southampton with excitement and just glad to have reached this goal.We were very soon on board, and although the Ventura is definatly showing signs of wear, still had some places where she sparkled.Cabin A 627 deck 12. Was similar to the ship, ok but showing signs of wear, balcony with 2 chairs one foot rest and one small table.Plenty of clothes storage space and enough room for changing in.A very small shower, but adequete.The room attendant Sandesh, arrived to welcome us and show us round etc. Seemed very genuine and caring.We are not given to dressing up for meals, but do put on clean shirt trousers etc.So we opted really to use the buffet for our meals, plus we could dine when we wanted, which works for us.The food was adequete, if a bit sameish.There was no squash throughout the day, just tea or coffee.

The entertainment was very good , a special word here for the onboard show team of young people who put on about 8 different shows, they put their heart and souls into each show.AMAZING****. Didnt rate the comedian very much, not my humour. Read more
