We have not cruised with P&O since a rather poor experience on Ventura some years ago but this cruise restored our faith in the company and we had a wonderful cruise to see the Northern Lights.
The Oriana is an excellent ship and had really good entertainment throughout the cruise. The ship has a dedicated cinema which we liked.
The food was really good, far better than we remembered from our previous P&O voyages and the ship is really clean and well maintained. I struggled to see any of the problems that other reviewers had mentioned about the ship feeling tired.
Excellent cabin, with no noise problems at all. We encountered a force 11 gale during the trip but did not feel anything untoward, despite the cabin being forward and on a high deck. Plenty of space in the cabin and the bathroom had a full size bath which was a bonus. The only negative point was the slightly smaller wardrobes with less hanging space than usual but it did not cause us any problems. Not having a window was no problem at all.
Lovely old town
Nice place to visit in the snow.
We had poor visibility so cannot comment on the Troll wall. The stave church was interesting.
Good shopping before embarkation
